Who is Ms. Peggy Woods? Welcome to Student Services at CJSHS
Ms. Peggy Woods has been a school counselor at Columbia Jr. Sr. High School for 22 years. She is a Colorado native who received her Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, and her Master of Arts degree in Guidance and Counseling from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado. In addition she has a degree from the University of Maryland in Italian Studies and has taken numerous graduate courses from Millersville University and Penn State University.
She is married to Dennis Tessen and has three step children. She and her husband own Whiff Roasters, a company which roasts gourmet coffee, in Lititz, Pennsylvania.
School Counselors are involved in three areas of a student"s education. These include personal/social, academic, and career choices. Ms. Woods may be reached by email, [email protected]. or by phone at 717-684-7500, ext. 3410. The two school counselors rotate grade levels each year. In school year 2013-2014, Ms. Woods is the School Counselor for grades 8, 10, and 12.
Ms. Woods and Mrs. King are Advisors for the Class of 2014. Last year's prom theme was Masquerade, A Night in Disguise. One of the masks is pictured above. Class Advisors help their students raise funds for activities and will organize senior trips this year.
